Criminal Procedure

The criminal procedure module explores the proceedings brought before the District-Criminal Court against any natural person or legal entity. The procedural law ensures a fair trial but does not evaluate the violation per se as it is a substantive legal matter under the sphere of the Criminal Law module.

Contract Law

This subject is predominantly based on the principles of contract law and entails two important Acts; the Contract Law Act, Cap.149 – Περί Συμβάσεων  Νόμος-  and Sales of Goods Act 1994-Περί Πώλησης Αγαθών Νόμος 1994.

Code of Conduct

The legal profession is regulated by a number of Acts which have codified the provisions of lawyers’ ethics. Those Acts are examined in this module.

Civil Procedure

The CPR are the rules of civil procedure used by the District and Supreme Court in civil cases so they can perform their functions.

Law of Evidence

The Law of Evidence encompasses the rules and legal principles that govern the proof of facts in legal proceedings. These rules determine what evidence must or must not be considered.

Constitutional Law

The constitution of Cyprus is a document that serves as the framework for the Cypriot government. It was drafted after the country won its independency in 1959 and it is Cyprus’  first and only constitution to date. It has been amended 9 times since 1960.

Criminal Law

It is the system of law concerned with the punishment of offenders  which has been codified  by the Criminal  Code – Ποινικός Κώδικας. You  will be examined on  various  criminal  offences  such as murder, manslaughter, theft and other criminal offences.

Civil Law

It is a civil wrong -αστικό αδίκημα- to unfairly cause someone else to suffer loss or harm. The resulting legal liability for the person who commits the harm is known as the tortious act. You will be examined in number of tortious acts such as negligence, nuisance, property torts etc.
